Prince is hitting the road in 2004 for his first tour in more than six years. He’ll be joined by the New Power Generation band performing his best known hits totally live and for the last time. The tour follows Prince’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the release of his new album “Musicology”. As an added incentive, all concert goers will also receive the new CD for free.
Born Prince Rogers Nelson, he began playing the piano at age 7. After running away from home, Prince taught himself to play the drums, guitar, and bass. Prince’s debut album made him the youngest producer in Warner Records history, but the album didn’t fare well. The semi-biographical film “Purple Rain” was released in 1984 along with an accompanying soundtrack which made Prince an instant superstar. Prince might always be known as “the symbol” that he changed his name to in the 1990s, but no one can argue that he’s been a force in the music industry for years.
