Now that they have scored rookie QB Matt Leinart, The Cardinals need to beef up their defense for ’07 – as they are currently ranked 30th in the league. With Leinart on hand, and brand new University of Phoenix stadium, season ticket holders to Cardinals games should expect an exciting season - and hopefully, an improvement in a lacking offensive line. In an already weakened NFC, these changes could mean team playoffs for the Cardinals – and fans have their hopes on Leinart to make this happen.
Back in the day, which some people will say is a Wednesday, the Cardinals were winning league championships. The team, which has been playing professional football since 1920, won National Football League Championships in 1925 and 1947. Outside of that the Arizona Cardinals haven't enjoyed too much success. The team won its last playoff game in 1998 when they upset the Dallas Cowboys in Texas Stadium. Before that, the last time they won a playoff game was 1947 when they won the NFL Championship Game in the pre-Super Bowl days.
Since the 1985 season, the Cardinals have posted a dismal .348 winning percentage and made just that one playoff appearance, but they're starting to showing signs of improvement.
