The offense of the New England Patriots is led by two-time Super Bowl MVP Tom Brady. Brady had one of his better seasons last year when he posted a career high of 4110 yards passing to go along with 28 touchdowns. Corey Dillon should provide the stability for the entire offense at the running back position. The Patriots always have a deep, talent laden receiving corps and this year will be no different. Little by little, the defense that carried them to three Super Bowls in four seasons has been dismantled and they will hope to be adequate this year while Brady and the rest of the offense will carry this team.
In the off-season, had a number of players come and go. They managed to sign corner safety Tebucky Jones and future Hall of Fame linebacker Junior Seau. They also picked up wide receiver Reche Caldwell to help sure up Brady’s targets this year.
The New England Patriots were the closest thing the NFL has to a dynasty until they weren’t able to get it done in the playoffs in 2005, losing to the Broncos in Denver. The Patriots surprised a lot of people with their play during the 2001 season, winning the AFC East and eventually winning the Super Bowl. After missing the playoffs in 2002 and opening the 2003 season 2-2, they went on to win the next 15 games they played en route to another Super Bowl championship. Part of their success can be attributed to head coach Bill Belichick. Belichick has been the head coach of the Patriots since the start of the 2000 season and he’s compiled a 66-33 season over six years, the highest winning percentage in franchise history.
