Can QB Marc Bulger have the stellar season he had in ’06? He certainly delivered, setting new standards in touchdown passes. With stronger receivers in ’07, as well as a quality running game, Bulger is expected to have another fantastic season – barring any injuries. The Rams are also expected to strengthen their defense this season, and fully expect La’Roi Glover to step up, and the linebackers to make those plays. Season ticket holders to Edward Jones Dome can definitely expect good things from the Rams in ’07.
The St. Louis Rams have been playing professional football since the 1937 season when they debuted as the Cleveland Rams from 1937-1945. In 1945, the team won the first of their three NFL championships. The next season the team moved west to play in Los Angeles, where they were located from 1946-1993 and won their second championship in 1951. The Rams packed up once again and settle in St. Louis before the 1994 season.
One of the better seasons in recent memory came in 1999. They went out and signed big time free agent quarterback Trent Green and they felt like they would challenge for a Super Bowl. Those feelings were quickly disposed of when Green tore up his knee in a preseason game and the backup was former bagboy and Arena League signal caller by the name of Kurt Warner. A funny thing happened though; he stepped in and was better than anyone could have ever imagined. Warner led a high-powered offense that was dubbed “The Greatest Show on Turf” and finished with a 13-3 record. Warner finished the season with the NFL MVP award and passed his team into the Super Bowl where he played in what some call the greatest Super Bowl game ever. He was also named the MVP of the game. It’s one of the better stories the NFL has seen in a while.
