The American Airlines Center is one of the jewels of the Dallas-Ft. Worth Area in Northern Texas. It’s quite visible from the nearby highway and easily accessible from more than one direction with ample parking available. The American Airlines Center cost $420 million to construct with half of the finances coming from public taxes and the other half coming from the basketball and hockey teams. The American Airlines Center offers 144 luxury suites and more than 1,600 club level seats to the fans but no matter where you’re sitting, you’re likely to see Mavericks owner Mark Cuban at some point during the game. Cuban has built a reputation as an owner for the fans and he just as likely to be sitting behind the team on the floor as he is to be sitting in the upper levels with the fans that he can relate to. The American Airlines Center features some of the nicest home locker rooms in the country with televisions, stereo systems, recliners and the newest gadgets and gismos for the players to use in their spare team. The Mavericks were once the doormat of the NBA but the new look team and the new look stadium have made players want to reside in the Dallas area. The Stars also play at the American Airlines Center and have won a Stanley Cup since their move from Minnesota when they were known as the North Stars. The Stars have been one of the most successful teams in the NHL over the last few years and the American Airlines Center has become a place that opposing teams don’t enjoy coming to because of the knowledgeable fans and the solid team they meet on the ice. The transition from ice surface to wood surface for each sport is quite and simple so that the time needed to change the surface is absolutely minimal.
