In the summer of 2004, Evanescence will tour much of North America to promote their album “Fallen” which at last count had sold over 12 million copies worldwide. The tentative plan is for 28 shows, the first of which will take place in Vancouver on July 7th. The finale is scheduled for August 15th in Little Rock, Arkansas, the band’s hometown. Evanescence won’t be traveling alone this summer, because they’ve joined forces with Seether, Three Days, Grace, and Breaking Benjamin.
Known mostly for the piano playing of lead singer Amy Lee, Evanescence has been able to combine rock, grunge, and classical sounds to form a sound that is all their own, one of the most unique genres of music in generations and one that has been good and bad for the band themselves. The band formed in the late 1990s and has already had two songs placed on the 2003 soundtrack for the movie “Daredevil”. The band’s album was originally released in the Christian market, but after band members used profanity in an interview, the album was yanked off the shelves in Christian stores.
